Starring at a course of time
with time in coarse starring back at me
through fades of dark to light shades
each strand identifying themselves as the longest strand......or
by being in spots more noticeable than others
I use to think with age comes this gray
but lessons learned
didn't warn me of stress levels and
worries that can speed up the process
yeah,
I grabbed that box of repair
that dye that can restore
or temporary hide....that gray hair
but for each strand cut, pulled or dyed
becomes your hidden lie of youth
spawns more truth in the gray of truth
Strand of 50
only in my early 40's
so that makes at least
5-6 strands yearly growing after 30
or maybe a grain of strands
depending how long you can stay stress-free
each strand(s) has its own story
salt and pepper I prefer on my tables
but not all over me
GRAY,
funny how it defines age or cells dying
Overriding your black grains, with gray fields of weeds
a fight between the Black and Gray strands
and in time, gray wins, or else you go bald
Gray is so deceptive in blend
gray is a short way of saying "my hair is dying man"
that you don't accept the gray
but white strands of dead hair in true form of aging
GRAY
placed above time
and some point it makes you look wise
color treatments for a younger look in disguise
I'm working on embracing this transition
hoping that my chameleon shell compliments me
and I can stand proud as those before me and around me
and say, "Grey is the new Youth in age."...
