Our words bonded before the physical could reach
eyes made much contact through still images on screen
speaking on us silently while thinking on we
so why
Why didn't we ever meet
invitation to a congregation
shock factors had us frozen in time
how do we greet through this meet
through a:
a hug
a kiss
or just secretly dismiss ourselves to another scene
who knows
now we are finally getting close
with arms extended and eyes looking down
bodies locked closely
to arms holding securely
alignment wasn't that perfect
your lips could only reach my collar
and mine, your forehead
your cushioning softness
pierce my muscular
and we
we forgetting anyone was there
we released slowly
as if someone pressed the slow motion
on a tv remote
I felt your smile leaving my neck
our hands still grasping
bodies now separating
we were right there
so why
Why didn't our lips meet
Stealing glances from across the room
where figures stood in our way
but desires made us see each other right through them
Trying to ignore the entertainment
doing my best not to make the song playing
sounds of your heart beat from a distance
don't want to perform my poetry pieces
with my eyes saying in stares to you
"This is dedicated to you" "This is about you"
wanting to make a full entrance to your presence
while exiting the room
"WE" wanted to cross boundaries
without leaving exiting wounds
no time for getting a room
using names in alias
the park is near in the clear
where we can park out there
and just do the adult thing, right there
no one has to know, says the first kiss
we can feel guilty and then repent
after you’re tightly keegl to my muscle
and I slowly tearing away your entrance
but how much will be destroyed
this destination has us covering each other’s moans
with aggressive kissing and nail embedding holds
how do we continue to lay in this embrace
a full connection below the waist
then look at our mutual connections-
without turning from brown skin
to Indian red face
why is this just an imagination
a played out vision years later
why are we living on shoulda, woulda coulda
why
Why didn't we just make love
Funny thing
through this poem, we did
WHY DIDN"T WE.......
